Science week in Y6

The theme for Science week this year is 'connections'.

In Year 6, we looked at food chains and food webs as we have learnt a lot about animals during our Arctic and Antarctic topic.

We started out by creating a food chain using the food chain cards - we needed to start with a producer before choosing several consumers to fit with it.

We then looked at what a food web looks like and that sometimes, some of the consumers will eat the same producer as each other, but might also eat other consumers as well! The children then created their own food web using animals of their choice.

They worked hard with their partner to produce some very lovely looking food chains and food webs! Have a look at science week activities across the school below:
