Black History Month
Key stages 1 and 2 have been learning about Black History Month during assembly time. They listened really well; made some great contributions and asked some thoughtful questions - some of those children will find themselves on the 'above and beyond' bench during Friday's assembly! In the UK, Black History Month happens every October.
It gives everyone the opportunity to share, celebrate and understand the impact of black heritage and culture.
People from African and Caribbean backgrounds have been a fundamental part of British history for centuries. However, campaigners believe their contribution to society has often been overlooked or distorted.
