🍂 Autumn Term Blog Post – Class Update 🍂
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the autumn term! We’ve had a fantastic start to the school year and I’m excited to share what your children will be learning over the coming weeks.
📚 English
This term, we’re focusing on recount story writing. The children will be learning how to structure and write their own journal entries, drawing on personal experiences and developing their descriptive writing skills.
➗ Maths
In Maths, we’ll be exploring area, as well as strengthening our understanding of multiplication and division. These topics will help build a solid foundation for problem-solving and reasoning.
🏛️ Topic – The Romans
Our history topic this term is The Romans. We’ll be diving into Roman life, their impact on Britain, and exploring key events and figures. Expect some exciting projects and discussions! As well as a Roman day (more information to be shared soon)
🔊 Science – Sound
In Science, we’re investigating sound – how it’s made, how it travels, and how we hear it. The children will enjoy hands-on experiments and learning through exploration.
🏑 PE – Gymnastics & Hockey
PE continues to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This term, we’re focusing on gymnastics and hockey, helping children develop coordination, teamwork, and physical confidence.
🧠 AREP – Racism and Equality
Instead of our usual Jigsaw sessions, we’ll be engaging in important discussions around racism and equality. These lessons aim to foster empathy, respect, and a deeper understanding of diversity.
📸 Aquarium Trip Photos – Update
We had a wonderful time on our recent aquarium trip, and I know many of you are eager to see the photos! Unfortunately, I’m currently experiencing some technical issues with the class iPad, which is preventing me from uploading the pictures. I’m working on getting this resolved as soon as possible and will share the photos once everything is back up and running.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s learning, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
