We’re excited to share that Y2 Victorian Day will take place on Monday 23rd March. This themed day will give children a rich, hands‑on experience of what life was like during the Victorian era, helping them deepen their understanding of this fascinating period in history.

What parents need to know

  • Date: Monday 23rd March
  • School day timings: No changes to the normal school day.
  • School dinners: These will run as usual with no changes to the menu or routine.
  • £10 is now payable on Arbor for the day.
  • Children are welcome to come dressed in simple Victorian-style clothing if they wish. There is no expectation to buy anything new—simple, homemade touches are perfect. Below are some simple options.

What the children will experience

Throughout the day, pupils will explore a range of Victorian‑themed activities, including:

  • Looking closely at real and replica Victorian artefacts to understand how people lived.
  • Discovering what school was like for a Victorian child, including classroom routines and expectations.
  • Learning about the differences between life for rich and poor families, and how these shaped children’s daily experiences.

These activities are designed to bring history to life in an engaging, memorable way.
