Year 4 have been busy creating beautiful mountain prints inspired by their learning in both Art and Geography.
In Art, the children explored the work of the famous Japanese artist Hokusai, known for his detailed prints of landscapes, especially mountains such as Mount Fuji. In Geography, they have been learning about mountains, including how they are formed and what they look like around the world.
To bring these topics together, the children first sketched their own mountain ranges on paper, thinking carefully about shape and detail. They then transferred their designs onto polystyrene, pressing their drawings into the surface. Finally, they used paint to print their designs onto paper, creating their own artwork in the style of Hokusai.
The finished prints look fantastic and show great creativity and effort—well done Year 4! 🌟
