This week, Year 4 enjoyed their first trip to the local library. The children walked to the library together, showing excellent behaviour and enthusiasm along the way.
When they arrived, they were given a tour of the library and learned about the different sections, including where to find fiction, non-fiction and children’s books. The librarians also explained how the library works and shared lots of interesting information about the services available.
The highlight of the visit was choosing a book to borrow. Every child had the opportunity to select a book to take back to school, and there was great excitement as they explored the shelves and discovered new stories and topics that interested them.
Back in school, the children were eager to start reading their chosen books and sharing their selections with friends. The visit was a wonderful opportunity to encourage a love of reading and help the children become more confident in using the library.
We would like to thank the library staff for making us feel so welcome. Year 4 are already looking forward to their next visit!
