On Wednesday 11th November, the Bikeability Team will be in school  delivering a Learn to Ride Course.

This is aimed at children are either unable to cycle or for whatever reason, are struggling to master the skill or haven’t had the opportunity to learn to cycle. It will also help new riders gain confidence to ride.

Sessions will involve balance bikes (bikes without pedals) which help children to learn cycling balance. Sessions are 1 hour in length.
Learn at your own pace
Bikeability Learn to Ride is delivered by qualified cycling instructors in a constructive, low pressure environment ideal for beginners. It is a rider led focused training session with an emphasis on “at their own pace” to learn how to ride.
More tailored training
Bikeability Learn to Ride runs with smaller group sessions, offering more individual training time.
Bikeability Learn to Ride are working towards the following outcomes
1. Get on and off the bike without help
2. Start off and pedal without help
3. Stop without help
4. Ride along without help for roughly one minute or more
5. Make the bike go where they want
They will also:-
1. Demonstrate understanding of safety equipment and clothing
2. Carry out a simple bike check
