🤖🔧 Beep, Boop, Let’s Learn! A Week of Robots and Technology 🤖🔧💡
Get ready for another exciting week of learning in Foundation!
Our Big Idea Questions are:
🤖 What do robots do?
🏠 What technology do we use at home?
Next week, we will be exploring the amazing world of robots and technology through stories, discussions, songs and hands-on activities. We will be thinking about how technology helps us in our everyday lives and discovering some of the jobs that robots can do.
📚 We will be enjoying the hilarious story No-Bot by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, as well as . These fun stories will inspire lots of imaginative thinking and storytelling!
🎵 We will also be singing “I’m a Little Robot” (to the tune of I’m a Little Teapot) and practising our robot moves as we learn.
🎨 The children will be designing and creating their own robots, thinking carefully about what their robot might look like and what special jobs it could do. We will also be using props to create and act out our own simple stories, helping to develop our imagination and communication skills.
🔍 As part of our learning, we will be exploring different materials such as metal, plastic and fabric. We will investigate how materials feel and build our descriptive vocabulary by comparing their different properties. Will they feel smooth, rough, hard, soft, shiny or bumpy?
🍎📚 A Special Storytelling Visitor! 📚🍎
We are very excited because this week we will be welcoming a special visitor into school to share a wonderful story through food! The children will enjoy listening to the much-loved story The Hungry Caterpillar and will have the opportunity to explore and taste a selection of fruits from the story. This exciting experience will bring the story to life and encourage the children to use their senses as they learn.
We can’t wait to share this delicious storytelling adventure with everyone! 🐛🍓🍐🍎🍊
