Poetry Week
This week in Year 5 we had a special focus on poetry in English and what a great weak it has been !
Our theme this year was nature, inspired by The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. As a class, we looked at a Kingfisher, focusing on how they move, their distinctive high pitch call and their incredible bright coloured feathers!
We came up with some amazing adjectives as a whole class and focused on specific words to create strong imagery of a Kingfisher. We implemented these into our independent acrostic poems alongside phenomenal drawings of Kingfishers. I am so proud of every member in Hamilton Class for creating brilliant poems!
