We have had a fantastic first week back in Year 1!
We kicked off our new book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, with a very special tea party! The children got busy making jam sandwiches, decorating bunting, designing posters and drawing their favourite tea party guests. Everything was ready for our party… but then we had an unexpected visitor! It seems a tiger had found its way into our classroom and helped itself to some of our sandwiches and cakes! Luckily, it was kind enough to leave a few treats for the rest of us!
We also enjoyed our very first Forest School session! The children had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors, meeting our resident chicken family and getting creative by making crafts using natural materials. There was plenty of exploring, discovering and, of course, getting muddy! It was muddy good fun!
What a lovely start to the new half-term. We are looking forward to another exciting few weeks of learning in Year 1!
