Hello all,

I hope you are keeping safe. I thought I dedicate a blog post to the three main apps we are using for home learning to help support Maths during the closure.

I will be assigning new tasks weekly on each of the apps for the Sea Lions to try and complete . DoodleMaths:

I will continue to upload new tasks for Doodlemaths weekly and these tasks will be based on the Maths we have covered so far so children can review these areas. The app itself  identifies the strengths and weaknesses for each each child and builds a work programme specific to their needs. It creates an  interactive learning experience for young children, who are then guided through the programme to the areas they need to work on.  More information can be found here:http://www.doodlemaths.com/

 

Timestable Rockstars:

For every child I have assigned the timestables they have been working on. By the end of Year 3 the children should  know their 2's, 5's, 10's, 3's, 4's and 8 timestables (both the multiplication facts and division facts e.g- 4 x 3= 12 and 12 divided by 3 is 4). 

Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice to help children learn and practice their timestables.

Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised.

 

Mymaths:

Every week I will be assigning Mymaths activities and there will be a lesson they can learn from before they complete a task.  These tasks will be based upon the Maths we have learnt so far. Mymaths provides access to a range of ready-made lessons and online homework tasks. It is a fantastic resource to use!
