So we covered over our windows and turned off the lights. We stuck a mini figure onto the United Kingdom on the globe and we used a torch to represent the sun.

The children has to slowly move the sun around the Earth  Whilst Mrs Lindley moved the Earth around at the same time.

The children had to work out when our little mini figure was having their daytime and when it was night time for them. The children worked out that  it goes dark because the sun is shining on a different part of the world.  Without the suns light it gets dark.
