Mindfulness Moments - A lesson outside.

The lovely sunshine this week allowed us to do a fantastic art lesson outside in our wonderful grounds. This was a chance to participate in our 'Mindfulness in May' focus.

The children were set the task of creating a pirate ship out of natural materials.

They applied all of their new found knowledge developed over the last few weeks during our 'Land Ahoy' topic to find different parts of the ship.

Miss Waugh enjoyed her outside teaching time and heard the amazing discussions and vocabulary that was being used during the activity.  She saw great teamwork and creative thinking going on. Two of our schools Keys to Learning.

Take a look here at the rest of the children's 'Transient Art' (art that is not permanent)

A few of the children were stuck inside taking their SAT's papers but we will make sure they get a chance to do the activity on another sunny afternoon. We will give them their bit of mindfulness to recover !
