Given the announcement this evening that schools will close from Friday 'except for looking after the children of keyworkers and vulnerable children', I have no doubt that you will be anxious and seeking further clarification. The news you heard this evening was not delivered in advance to schools - we heard it at the same time as you on the television or radio. Furthermore, we have not yet been sent any further detail about how schools will run from Monday. As such, I would ask you to allow us some time before we can communicate our plans to you. Hopefully, we will have more detail and some initial plans before 3.30pm tomorrow.

I would like to reassure you that we will do everything we can to support you and your children, whether your children can still come to school or need to stay at home, for as long as necessary.
