Dragon's Roar- June 2020!

Our first few weeks back at KPNS have been a little different but very successful. We have loved seeing the smiling faces of our children who have returned to school, and they have all settled into our new routines so well. We miss those of you who are still at home, but we know we will be seeing lots of you over the coming week. We hope that our families at home get to enjoy the sunshine this week.

Goodbye Mrs Betts- We’ll Miss You!

I’m sad to say that we are saying a goodbye to Mrs Betts at the end of this Summer term. After first joining KPNS in 2016, Mrs Betts will now be moving to Richard Bonington school, in Arnold, from September. During her time at KPNS, Mrs Betts has been a key member of the leadership team and integral to the improvements that have been made, and so positively reflected in last year’s OFSTED inspection. I’m sure you will want to join me, the staff and governors in wishing her every success and thanking her for her hard work and commitment at KPNS – we will miss her greatly! We will be making sure Mrs Betts gets a proper send off before the end of term and will keep you posted.

Classes for Next Year

So, having read that Mrs Betts is leaving you will probably be wondering who will be teaching the Year 4 children next year! We are delighted that Mrs Hill will be joining us for the Autumn term. Mrs Hill has done several days of supply at Keyworth Primary in the past and she is looking forward to settling here at Keyworth.

So, the classes for next year are as follows:

Year 6 – Miss Hopwood

Year 5 – Miss Rayns

Year 4 – Mrs Hill

Year 2 and 3 – Miss Fowell

Year 1- Miss Simpson

F2 – Mrs Lindley and Mrs Gerrard

F1 – Mrs Boon

Mrs King and Mrs Holmes will continue with their Deputy Head roles.

Holiday Club

Several parents have asked if Windmills Childcare will be operating a holiday club over the summer. The government have not yet confirmed that holiday clubs can open as normal, but Windmills are planning towards the goal of offering the holiday club, following all relevant government guidance. Windmills have already successfully reopened pre-school and wrap around provision so feel confident that the holiday club could be offered also - if the government give the go ahead. We will keep you updated.

Late Arrivals

Please remember that the school is open for children to arrive from 8:50am – 9:15am. Several children have been dropped off late this week which means that they miss out on the input for the session which is very disruptive for them and the other children in their ‘bubble’. It also means that our cook does not get accurate numbers of dinners in time for her to prepare the meals.

If there is a reason why you may be delayed in the morning, please call the school office as soon as you can.

Information coming out from school

As we try and welcome as many of our pupils back as possible over the coming weeks, please keep a close eye on your class blog and latest news sections of our website. We will be update them regularly with important safety information.
