Music Lessons

There are plenty of opportunities to learn a musical instrument at Keyworth Primary, check out what's on offer below:

In partnership with Inspire Music, we are pleased to be able to offer your child instrumental tuition for the following instruments: Guitar, Clarinet or Flute, Piano/Keyboard. These options are all open to children from year 2 upwards and dependent on numbers, but we will try and accommodate where possible.

Inspire Music teachers are fully trained, qualified and offer much more than just standard peripatetic music tuition.

Inspire Music will provide tuition for a minimum of 10 lessons per term, based on teacher availability.

What will it cost per term?

Shared lesson ( your child will be assigned to a group): £73.42 per pupil

Individual 20 minute lesson: £146.84 per pupil

You can also hire instruments from Inspire Music for an additional £16.00 per term.

If your child receives free school meals, you hold an NHS Tax Credit exemption certificate or you receive Universal Credit with a take-home pay of £935 or less, your child is eligible for free lessons and instrument hire through our service.

Please email schooloffice@keyworth.notts.sch.uk  for more information or to sign up by the form here by 30th June.

Rockley Music Education is a family run business established in 2010 with a clear goal. Setting out to encourage as many young people as possible to get involved in making music. We pride our selves with a professional, flexible and committed service to all our pupils, parents and schools alike, giving children as young as 4 years of age the opportunity to learn an instrument whilst having lots of fun getting into the groove, reading, writing and performing music.

The drums are a fantastic instrument to learn and play. They are engaging, fun, physical and wonderful for building confidence in people. Drumming demands concentration, coordination, energy and enthusiasm and for these reasons young people in particular find playing the drums very stimulating, inspiring and a great form of physical and mental stimulation. Playing the drum kit for 20 minutes can really get your heart pumping! Furthermore we have also discovered drumming stimulates fine motor skills and core stability leading to an improvement in handwriting, physical and social skills.
