The Meadow class have all been settling in together over the last few weeks.
For a lot of the children it has been their first experience of being in school for longer periods of time.
We wanted to share some of the photos that we will be putting on one of our display boards this week.
Have you been spotted.............................doing something amazing in the classroom and setting a really good example.
A Party in the Rainforest
This we are going to have a couple of stories. Stickman and Rosie's walk
We will be challenging the children to hear lots of 'c' sounds in their activities this week.
We will be teaching them that there is more than one way to make a c sound.
You can use a 'c', you can use a 'k' or you can put them together and make the special friend sound 'ck'!
Lots of the activities will be using stick. We seem to have an abundance of sticks all over the place at the moment so we are going to find imaginative ways of using them.
Stickman is available as an animation on BBCiPlayer.

Our letters of the week
Here are just some of the activities we will be making available for the children to choose.
For our Maths this week.....We will be reinforcing the numbers 1 2 and 3 as well as learning all about triangles. We will be making patterns out of all the natural materials we can find. We will even be using timers to see how fast we can build a shelter for stickman to hide in.
Incy Wincy Spider is one of our stories and rhyme this week.
We will be learning the rhyme and the actions that go with it.
Watch Mr Tumble teach us the signs for the Incy Wincy Rhyme.
As one of our letters of the week is ' i i insect' we will be watching a video that answers the question "Are spiders insects?" (the answer is .........no)
Another quick African tale is about why the spider has long legs. That is going to be our other letter of the week 'l l l l long legs!'
Our Sound Story this week is ‘Octopus, Socktopus’
This story is going to help introduce and reinforce the letter ‘o’
We will be eating lots of o o orange’s, and making a giant orange octopus!
Before each activity we will show our RWI letter ‘o’ and use the phrase
‘Back… all around the orange’.
We will be matching up pairs of socks and welly boots for the octopus too!
This half term we will be introducing and reinforcing lots of sounds through stories.
During this time we will also be thinking about our "Big Question"
Why do leaves go crunchy?
So it is not everyday you need to have a parachute handy in order to make apple juice!
One of our stories this week is Apple Trouble.
We are going to be using this story as a way of introducing or reinforcing the RWI letter 'a'.
Welcome to the Meadow class Monday morning story prompt.
We have been in the classroom today getting it all ready for a fresh new start. A few things moved around and new areas developed. We are so looking forward to seeing some familiar faces ..... and lots of new ones too.
