Online resources to support you

Hi all! I recently came across three fantastic online resources for home learning. I'll be starting to recommend a lot of these next week when we launch our Home Learning Maps (see newsletter for more info) but I would highly recommend having a look in the meantime.

Oak National Academy

Last week, the Oak National Academy starting delivering online lessons in Maths, English and Foundation subjects. They have videos delivered by real teachers and are probably the closest thing to classroom learning I've found so far!

Click here for the website, choose your year group and scroll down for lessons. More will be added each week.

BBC Bitesize

This has always been a great learning tool but they have really stepped up their came for lockdown! Offering lessons in all subjects, each one has a video clip and then a number of activities to complete. New lessons are being added all the time.

Oxford Owls ebooks

An absolutely brilliant replacement for our school library books! This site offers free access to hundreds of books https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/ You just need to set up a login.

You can browse by age, type, level and series. I would recommend choosing 'Levels' then 'Book Band' and selecting a colour. These colours match up to the colour your child was reading at school. However, if your child needs to practise their phonics, you can also select 'Levels' then 'Letters and Sounds' to work your way through the different phonics phases.
