How big is the USA?

Parks class found out how big the USA is by using their marvellous map skills!

Today Parks class continued to explore the USA as part of our topic 'Road Trip USA'.

We learnt that:

  • The USA is 40 x bigger than the UK in size and looked at this using cut-outs of the UK and USA.
  • The USA is made up of 50 states and these are represented on the 'stars and banner' flag.
  • The capital of the USA is Washington DC and not New York!
  • Washington DC is particularly important for politics and is home to the white house!

We also used our map skills to locate the USA and then found the 50 states that the USA is made up of.
