What a fun filled week in Andersen Class!

What has Andersen class been up to this week ?

Andersen's class have had a busy week!  We started the week with a rainforest experience in our classroom as part of our Literacy helping us think of a range of different vocabulary related to the rainforest. We then went on to write about the rainforest and created some amazing writing. Later on in the week we were lucky enough to explore a campervan to come up with some describing words which we will be using next week to write about an old Camper van as part of are adventure story based on The great Chocoplot. See the photos below.

Geography this week we have been learning all about Fairtrade. We had a  virtual visit from a fairtrade repersentative who outlines what the organisation is  and showed the children some products they offer. We ended the session by looking at ways we can spread awareness, so if the children would like to make posters to promote awareness they are more than welcome.

In science, we have been busy making lots of noise as part of our topic 'sound' this term.  We have been exploring what volume and pitch mean by using a range of different instruments. We also looked at how we could change the pitch by using elastic bands and plastic tubs. The children came to the conclusion that the thicker the elastic band the lower the pitch but louder the volume.

Christmas performance

A letter about costumes for the Christmas show was sent home last week. More details about how to book your ticket will be passed out soon.

Costumes for Year 4:

Please bring costumes into school by Monday 5th December, so we can join in with whole school dress rehearsals.

Andersen class will be singing 2 songs, Buns and Magic garden which I have linked below for the children to practise at home.

As always, please keep on top of reading 3x a week at home to support learning in school. Can we ensure children are going on Doodletimes each day practising their 3,4 & 6 times tables. We have had a lot of children getting prizes this week for mastering them.

Thank you for your support
