That's a wrap Autumn 2!

It's been a wonderful term in Anderson Class read below to see what we have been up to!

Hello all!

So it's finally the end of term and nearly Christmas!

We have had an excellent time this term learning all about our topic Journeys and Trade where the children learnt about where our food comes from and how it gets to us. We even had a virtual visit from a lady at Fairtrade who told us all about why Fairtrade is important. To see what we learnt the year 4 completed a quiz on Kahoot which they enjoyed! See below some photos from our Geography lessons.

In art this term, Anderson class have had two art projects. First one involved us making Diya lamps out of clay using a coil technique and then using our painting skills to paint them. The year 4 worked really hard and these have now been displayed on the corridor for everyone to see. If you happen to be in school keep an eye out for their lovely work!

Our second project involved us using some sketching skills to create our own Rangoli pattern using symmetrical lines which we then traced and drew on to some polystyrene tiles. We then learnt about printing techniques which we used to print our Rangoli patterns on to fabric. This will be turned into a hanging piece of art for our classroom.  These two project were linked to our RE topic Hindu Celebrations

In science the children have been learning all about sound and taking part in different experiments to see how sound travels, How we can change the pitch and how we can protect our ears. It's fair to say it's been very noisy during our Science lessons.

This week

This week we have had a fun filled week with lots of Christmas activities such as digital Christmas card making, using the ipads and Keynote. They should have brought them home today, which will have some instructions of how you can watch them digitally. We have also decorated Christmas cookies which im sure they will have enjoyed when they got home.  This morning we joined up with the year 3 and took part in massive Maths and used our discussion skills when solving Christmas related problems.
