We had a wonderful world book day in school!

Happy world book day!

At Keyworth we love reading and what better why to spend the day than reading poetry and taking part in poetry related activities.

We started the day by Mrs King introducing this year's theme 'poetry' we spoke about what poetry is and looked examples of this e.g- 'Our school is safe like a pair of goalkeeper's hands'. We then used our collaborative skills and completed our very own whole school poem in our year groups. Afterwards we assembled our sentences to create a huggge whole school poetry paper chain! The children worked wonderfully and helped one another beautifully. Keep your eyes peeled because you might just see our whole school poem displayed very soon.

As part of our classroom activity we looked at the poem 'Magical box' by Kit Wright and then thought about what was magical to us and what we would put in our very own magic box. We talked about our ideas, mind mapped  and then created our own 3D magic box with a dash of glitter of course!
