Y4's Roman Day!

On Friday the year 4, had a Roman day. Let's see what they got up to.

The children started the day by dividing into two teams and learning how the Romans used to go into battle, using shields and formations. Meanwhile, the second team had the opportunity to throw bean bags at them. During this activity, the children had to work as a team to ensure that they avoided getting hit by the bean bags.

After break time, we had the chance to examine various Roman artefacts and try to identify them. The Year 4 students particularly enjoyed this activity and even correctly identified some of the artefacts, such as a Roman toothbrush and surgical tools. Additionally, we were shown what traditional Roman clothing looked like.

In the afternoon, the children were introduced to some Roman games, Roman writing, and structural buildings. Click here for the photos from our fun day!
