World book day fun!

Read below to see what Thunberg class got up to for World Book Day!

Year 4 has had a wonderful day today, celebrating World Book Day. The theme this year was ‘Bedtime Stories’, and we invited children to come into school wearing PJs, onesies, dressing gowns, or costumes of characters from their favourite bedtime stories.

We started the day by exploring our class bedtime story, which was 'What Will You Dream of Tonight?' We then proceeded to draw examples of different dreams we might have, some inspired by the book and others fuelled by their wonderful imaginations. Then, after the break, the children had a session with Miss Fowell where they explored the book 'The King who banned the dark'. Afterwards, they were invited to a party to celebrate the lifting of the dark ban. However, Miss Fowell banned them from using any colours except yellow and black.

Then, this afternoon, we participated in the whole school bedtime story star competition, where children had to illustrate a star from their favourite bedtime story. Afterward, the children had a special activity—a virtual visit and drawing session with the author of "I'm Not Sleepy."
