Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

Hello,

This week we have celebrated Science week as a whole school.

Mr Cresswell kick-started Science Week by introducing this in a whole school assembly. The theme this year is ‘time’. Time is key to so many discoveries in science, technology, engineering and maths. You can find out more here: | STEM

SciTech Competition:

This year, Miss Rayns asked all the classes to design and make a rollercoaster for marbles. We had some marvellous creations! Those who took part needed to consider the number of turns, how the marble would exit and dimensions. We decided to test run our AMAZING creations and take part in a marble run heat.

Learning all about Albert Einstein

As part of world book day, each class was given a famous scientist to learn about and a year was given to Albert Einstein.  The children spent a lesson learning all about why he was famous and created some mind maps with all the facts they had learnt, as well as exploring his early life and later life through our viper lessons.

Class experiment

We also took part in a whole class experiment investigating animals, their variations and how they adapt to their environment over time. As part of this, children were given their own Moth outline which they had to camouflage in our classroom. The children had great fun blending their mouths into our classroom displays. Here are some examples:
