What has year 4 been up to?

Year 4 has been working hard so far this year. Let's have a look ...

Stan Lee class work

We kicked off the year by learning all about the inspirational Stan Lee, diving into his life story, and creating a comic strip that captured his journey. Afterward, we took it a step further by designing our own superheroes, each one reflecting on who we are and what we stand for.

English

This term, Year 4, I have been hard at work in English, exploring the suspenseful story Zelda and the Rain Cat. We've been focusing on how to create a suspenseful setting by using our senses and the weather to build tension.

 Geography

In Geography, Year 4, we have been learning about the world's oceans, using 8-point compass directions and grid references to locate them on a map. In addition, they have been identifying the location of the Great Barrier Reef.

Computing

In Computing, we have begun our programming topic and have been focusing on designing, writing, and debugging programs to accomplish specific goals.

Reading in year 4

We are in the process of enhancing our classroom reading area and would greatly appreciate the input of the Year 4 Children. We have encouraged them to suggest books they would like to see added to the collection. If students have any recommendations, they are welcome to submit them via email or in writing.

Y4  Reading librarians

Our year 4 school librarians this year is: Oliver and Imogen.

Trip to the Deep

Our upcoming trip to The Deep is fast approaching, and we are excited to embark on this adventure! We are currently seeking two parent volunteers to assist us on the day. If you are available to help, kindly inform the school office.

Please find below a social story for the trip, which we will be reviewing in class as part of our preparation.
