Spring 1: Our Capital City

Welcome back Attenborough Class. I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas break.

This half-term we will be looking at the geography unit - Our Capital City. In this unit, we will learn about the capital cities in the UK and learn all about our capital city - London!  We will use our imaginations to hop onboard the London Underground and travel into the heart of the city where we will encounter all sorts of famous landmarks.

We will apply our new knowledge of the famous London landmarks in our art lessons where we will learn how to use watercolours to paint a city scape as well as sketch a London landmark in the style of Stephen Wiltshire.

Check out the curriculum map below to find out what we will be learning about in our other subjects.

Key Dates:
- On Monday 5th February we will be going to Manor Farm Park as part of our science unit, Animal Kingdom. Over the next couple of weeks, I will send home a letter with further information on this trip.
We will need parent helpers. Please let me know if you are available to help on this date. If we do not get enough volunteers, we will not be able to go on the trip.

Tuesday 23rd January: KPNS Movie Night

- Friday 9th February: Last day before February half-term.

Reminders:
- PE remains on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Please listen to your child read 3 x a week. We are now working towards our silver reading awards!
