Spring 1 Round Up

Have a read below to find out what the children have been up to over this half-term.
Over the past half-term we have learnt SO much about castles and what life was like in 1066.
We have learnt about the different types of castles and how technological advances changed the way they were built. We have studied what life was like for a knight and for other people living inside a castle.
Alongside this, the children have designed their own Cote of Arms, depending on their personality and family. We are in the process of making these into pennants and the children have been learning how to do the running stitch to sew fabric together.
In maths, we finished our unit on money where the children learnt how to find change and add coins together. They put this into practise in our play shop. We are now moving on to multiplication and division and we will start to learn our 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables soon.
In science, we have been investigating different materials and their properties and we walked around school going on a hunt for them.
