What's been going on in Year 1?
Manor Park Farm - Monday 20th March
On Monday we are going on our school trip to Manor Park Farm. Please can children be in school at 8.50am as the bus is leaving at 9.15am. All children will need a packed lunch and wellies.
Science Week
We spoke about what we think a scientist is, and interestingly, most children thought scientists were people who mix chemicals! We then tackled our stereotypes and talked about some of the things scientists do. We followed this up by investigating our fingerprints and compared them to other people. DT - Tudor Houses
In DT this half-term, we have been looking at Tudor houses and have built our own using recyclable materials. We had great fun creating these freestanding structures and they look amazing!
PE
Our PE days are now on a Wednesday and Friday.
Spellings
Next week we will be on our set 4 spellings. Keep up practising these spellings. All children are expected to be able to read and spell these by the end of Year 1.
