Hello!

Today as part of the NSPCC's campaign 'Speak Out. Stay Safe' we learnt about the charity NSPCC (National Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Children). Did you know? It's the leading children's charity and has been running for over 130 years!

The charity works by visiting schools, supporting families and changing children's lives for the better.

The children learnt about 'Childline' a service for children where they can talk to someone if they're worried or scared and want to speak to someone. You can phone them or email them whenever it is needed.

We also learnt and discussed children's rights, Parks class spoke about this maturely and articulately  and provided some of their own ideas and spoke about their own opinions as a class.

We felt the most important rights included:

-Speaking to a trusted adult

-Being safe

- Getting help when they needed it.

Next week, Mrs Holmes will be discussing the NSPCC campaign further in assembly.

 

It was wonderful to hear the children talk so passionately about their rights!
