Friday 27th January

Good Afternoon and welcome to a well-earned weekend.

Hawking class have worked exceptionally hard this week, mastering long multiplication in Maths and completing their space themed adventure story in Literacy. VIPERS has introduced them to a newspaper report about the 1969 Moon Landing.

In Science, we have learned about the life cycle of stars and can now name different types of star, whilst in History we have continued to explore how different life was for rich and poor people in Tudor England.

Next week we will be writing Space themed poetry and working on division in Maths. We are also looking forward to our visit from Partake History to experience our Tudor Day. If you haven't yet paid £10 for your child to do this, could you please click on the link below.

A reminder about Doodles. Sadly, this week Hawking Class have lost their top spot in Doodles... because they aren't doing them!

Could I please remind you that it is a school expectation that children do their Doodles every week. It supports with their learning in class and develops a healthy attitude to homework that they will need increasingly as they progress through their school careers. At this current point in the academic year, your child needs to have a fluent knowledge of their multiplication tables as we cover topics in multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio and proportion. They also need to be practising their spellings for our weekly spelling test. The spellings set are from the National Curriculum and children will be tested on them as part of their end of Key Stage SATs.

Please support your child to do their Doodles. A little bit daily is much better than a big block once a week. (A hint - your child needs to be online as my laptop won't receive the information that they have done them if they aren't!) Thank you in anticipation of your support with this.

Have a lovely weekend!
