Welcome to Y6!

Information about the first half term.

Welcome to Year 6!

We have had a lovely first week in Kahlo class - the children have come back full of positivity and ready to learn.

Our first history topic this year is WWII. Please see the attached document for more information about what we will be doing this half term. To support our learning, I have booked Partake History to do a WWII day for us. They will be visiting on Thursday 21st September.  During this day the children will:

  • Shake your hips and move your feet to two popular dances of the 1940s.
  • Investigate original artefacts and meet an ARP warden and his ‘sweetheart’.
  • Face the reality of having to evacuate your children. What WOULD you do?
  • Find out what rations you’d be entitled to.
  • Take part in a craft session and decorate the hall for a ‘good old knees up!’

In order to contribute towards the cost of the visit, the cost to you will be £12. Please pay the £12 on Eduspot by Tuesday 19th September.

If your child would like to come to school dressed as a child during WWII they are more than welcome to.

Homework:

- Be in the green zone on Doodle maths and Doodle spell

- Read at least 3 times per week and fill in your home/school book

PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays - please make sure your PE kit is in school on those days.
