Antarctic talk

We had a talk about the Antarctic this week!

Yesterday, we had a talk from a meteorologist called Steve who has visited the Antarctic many times as part of a research group. He told the children all about the daily routine of a researcher (including meals!) and all about animals that they might see whilst out there. Lots of the children were still keen to visit Antarctica, even after they heard the coldest recorded temperature there was -89 degrees!

They asked Steve lots of really thoughtful questions and I think he inspired a lot of them to maybe one day travel to Antarctica! There are lots of different jobs that you can do out there, and you can also travel there as a tourist, although it costs a lot of money.
