World Book Day and SciTech competition

Y6 on World Book Day!

We had a lovely time on World Book Day with our theme of 'Bedtime Stories'.

I shared my favourite bedtime story, 'The Rainbow Fish', with the children and they created beautiful collages. They also designed a star to represent one of their favourite stories, including pictures to give clues about the book. These will form a display in school, with stars from all the children.

National Book Tokens are running a competition this year for children to design a book token and the winning designs will be made into proper book tokens! Winning children will receive book tokens in various amounts for themselves and also their school. Year 6 designed some fantastic looking book tokens, so fingers crossed one of them wins!

Today, we had the heats for our marble runs as part of the SciTech competition and it was very close! Janah, Emaan and Rebeca's marble went the furthest, Gracie and Niamh's was a close second. The school final will be next Friday, at the end of science week.

Have a look at all our lovely photos from World Book Day and the marble run heats below!
