Fun in the Seasons

Year 1 has had a busy start to the half-term.

In Year 1 we learn about the 4 seasons.

Last week, we explored our school grounds to gather information about autumn. We learnt that the leaves on the trees are changing colour and falling off. We saw lots of different coloured leaves (red, yellow, orange, brown and green!) and we noticed that some trees still had their leaves.

Today, we took advantage of the snowy weather and spent some time outside. When we returned to the classroom, we thought of some adjectives we could use to describe the snow and created a labelled drawing of a snowy scene.

We thought about how the weather has changed over the last few weeks, and linked this back to our science topic 'What are the four seasons and how do they change?'.

Children in Need 2024
On Friday, we celebrated Children in Need! We dressed up in spotty clothes and donated some change as part of our school-wide goal to fill as many Pudsey Bear faces as possible!
As part of our day, we took part in some Children in Need/White Rose Maths challenges which really got us thinking.

Anti-Bullying Week 2024 - Choose Respect
This year, the theme for Anti-Bullying week was Choose Respect. In Rashford Class, we discussed lots of different ways we can choose respect in our classroom and around school. We acted out some of these scenerios and filled in a pledge card with our respect promise.

Below you will find some pictures of Rashford Class playing together, exploring our Hinduism display and testing the absorbency of materials in our classroom.
