A jam-packed half-term

We have had lots of wonderful experiences in Year 1 this half-term. See below for a peep at what we've been up to.
Safer Internet Day 2025
The theme for Safer Internet Day this year was 'Protecting yourself from scams online'. In Year One, we looked at ways to identify whether a pop-up was safe or not safe. We discussed what to do if we see something we're unsure about online.
We must:
STOP what we are doing
CLOSE the internet or app we are using
TELL a trusted adult
Writing
Do you know how to make a jam sandwich? Let us show you!
This half-term, we explored the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'. In this story, Mr Grinling feeds some disgusting, mustard sandwiches to the three sneaky seagulls!
We thought it would be a fun idea to follow instructions to make a jam sandwich, then create our own set of instructions on how to make a yucky sandwich.
If you like muddy worm sandwiches, the recipe book will be kept in our classroom!
A visit to Keyworth library
We had another wonderful visit to our local library. We found lots of exciting books and brought some back to our classroom to share together.
