We have been so excited for this club to begin! Since coming back in September, the children have been very excited to get going on our creative writing activities.

Our first session focused on 'Rumblestar' by Abi Elphinstone. We watched a video in which she talked about how she creates a map for the Kingdom that her stories are set in. We then thought about what our own Kingdom would be like and what would be there. Would it be in the clouds? Under water? In space? Would there be caves? A forest? A volcano?

The children drew a sketch map of their Kingdom and added some places of interest. They then gave the places of interest imaginative names before naming their entire Kingdom.

Their final task for today was to write a postcard convincing me and Mrs King that we should go and visit their Kingdom. They had to tell us what their Kingdom looked like, what we would eat and even who we might meet there!

I can't wait to see what our next session brings!
