Roald Dahl Class have been busy exploring lots of exciting maths through hands‑on learning! We’ve been comparing lengths and heights, using words like longer, shorter, taller and the same 📐✨.
The children measured objects using cubes and paper clips, learning why it’s important to use the same unit each time, before moving on to measuring with rulers in centimetres (cm). They practised lining up their rulers carefully and comparing their measurements 🌍📏.
We also explored mass, comparing objects using heavier and lighter with balance scales ⚖️, and investigated capacity using lots of different containers. We even headed outside to measure and compare using plenty of water – lots of fun and learning all around! 💧🪣🌞
