ππ¨π΄ββ οΈ Β Y3 & Y4 Enjoy a Day of Storytelling and Art Together
Β Storyteller Mike retells the story of Treasure Island.
This morning, Year 3 and Year 4 came together for a wonderful shared experience. Mrs King invited Storyteller Mike to bring Treasure Island to life, the very story weβll be performing for our summer production. From the moment he began, the children were completely captivated. His lively storytelling, expressive acting, and dramatic voices transformed the room into a world of pirates, treasure maps, and adventure. The children joined in with enthusiasm, acting out scenes and immersing themselves in the excitement of the story.
π¨ Afternoon Art Inspired by Georges Seurat
In the afternoon, our creativity shifted to preparing artwork for the Keyworth Art Show.
The challenge: create a sunrise painting using dots, inspired by the artist Georges Seurat and his pointillism technique. The children used cotton buds to carefully place dots of colour, learning how Seurat built images through tiny points that blend beautifully from a distance. They explored shades of orange, yellow, pink, and blue, layering them to create glowing skies. Every piece looked wonderful, and the effort and concentration from both classes were clear to see.

What made the day truly special was how closely Year 3 and Year 4 worked together. They supported each other, shared ideas, and enjoyed being part of a partner class.
Look at us in action!
