This week, our School Council met to share ideas and make plans for improving our playgrounds, just in time for the colder months ahead!
As we begin using the playgrounds more regularly, we’ve been thinking about how to make them even more fun, inclusive, and exciting for everyone. Together, we discussed what kinds of activities would help us and our friends enjoy playtimes, even when it’s chilly outside.
🎯 Here are some of the brilliant ideas we came up with:
• A rotation of winter games to keep things fresh and fun
• Music to get us moving
• Bikes and scooters for active play
• Colouring stations for calm moments
• Lego and construction toys to build and imagine
• Reading corners with cosy books to enjoy
• More balls for catch and other games
• Extra seating so everyone has a place to rest, chat, or join in quietly
We’re excited to share that we’ve already started putting some of these ideas into action! It’s been brilliant to see children enjoying new activities and spaces and we’re looking forward to even more improvements soon.
Thank you to all the School Council reps for sharing thoughtful suggestions and thinking about what will help all children feel included and happy at playtime.
Let’s keep the ideas coming!
