We were delighted to welcome our local MP, James Naish, to school this week for a very exciting and informative assembly!
James began by talking to us about his job as a Member of Parliament and how he was elected to represent our area. He even showed us where he works in the Houses of Parliament in London, sharing fascinating photos of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It was amazing to see inside such an important place!
The children listened beautifully throughout the assembly and asked lots of thoughtful questions. James took the time to answer them all and helped us understand more about how our government works and how MPs help to make decisions for the country.
At the end of the visit, everyone received a special sticker, which was a lovely surprise! Our School Council, who form our very own ‘Mini School Parliament’, were especially excited to meet James in person. They even had the chance to have their photo taken with him — a moment they’ll certainly remember!
A huge thank you to James Naish for taking the time to visit our school and inspire the next generation of young leaders.
