What an exciting week we have ahead! 🎨 We will be starting Art Week, exploring the wonderful painting Surprised by Henri Rousseau. This artwork will inspire our learning across the week and give everyone the opportunity to be brilliant artists! 🖌️

We will also be delving into our Big Idea question:

  • What is a setting? 📍

  • Can you describe a setting?

The children will be learning that settings are places, and we’ll be talking about all the different places and adventures we can visit in stories. 🌍✨🚀🏔️ 🏖️🌋🏰

We will be sharing some wonderful texts with the children, including our Talk for Writing text, The Gruffalo. 📖 We will be using a story map to retell the story before inventing our own versions.

📚 Please could we ask that children bring their book bags into school every day, along with their reading diaries.
