Welcome to Y3 Kahlo class! It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back and get to know you all during this past week.
Please find attached below the curriculum map for Autumn 1 which tells you everything we will be learning about this half term. Our geography topic is Extreme Earth and we will be learning all about different types of extreme weather and how people around the world survive when it occurs. We will also be starting French as an additional language in Y3 where children will be learning about France and basic vocabulary within the language. Our class story is ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ by Roald Dahl this half term. We will also be swimming every Thursday in Y3 – see PE for further details.
Homework
Children are expected to stay in the green zone for Doodle maths and Doodle spell as well as complete additional assignments when set. These are set specifically for your child and will relate to things we are learning in school.
PE
PE days are Monday and Thursday. They will need their PE kits on Monday and swimming kits on Thursday. Children will need to bring an additional bag with a swimming costume and towel – it must be a one piece swimming costume (trunks are suitable for boys). Children are not required to wear caps or goggles, but long hair must be tied back. Keyworth Leisure Centre does not allow goggles, however if you would like your child to wear them, please contact the school with written permission that we can pass onto the leisure centre. They will need to take their swimming kits home at the end of the day and return them the following week.
