During the final week of Spring Term, Ride class developed their art skills, practising sketching techniques (such as scumbling and cross hatching) learned in the Autumn Term; and exploring the architecture of Sir Christopher Wren including key features such as symmetry and repeating patterns.
They explored Tudor chimney pot design and then designed their own chimney pots. Finally, under the watchful eye of Mrs Lees (who knows what she’s talking about when it come to working with clay!) they made their own chimney pots, using coil and slip techniques.
Take a look at the process and their finished designs!
