Science week

Last week for science week, the children thought about what a scientist looks like. They were asked to draw a picture and most of them drew a man wearing a lab coat with a pair of glasses and wild looking hair:

We then learnt about a different scientist every day. We found out all about Jane Goodall, Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Sir David Attenborough and Yannis Pitsiladis. Scientists don’t just work in laboratories, they work in all sorts of places and do all sorts of things. They might work outside with animals or inside with sports equipment, or even build important machines to help us learn about space!

At the end of the week, the children were asked to again draw what they think a scientist looks like and this time we got much more of a range:
