In History, we have been bringing our learning about toys to a close by comparing toys from the past with those we play with today. We have been looking carefully at their similarities and differences, as well as exploring the different materials used to make them. The children have enjoyed thinking about how toys have changed over time and what this can tell us about life in the past.
In Art, we have continued developing our painting skills, taking inspiration from the artist Paul Cézanne. The children have been experimenting with watercolours and exploring how to mix primary colours to create secondary colours. It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine through as they experimented with different colour combinations and created their own piece of art.
A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to parents’ evening. It was lovely to have the opportunity to talk to you about how the children have settled into Year 1 and the fantastic progress they have already been making. I am so proud of how hard they have been working!
