Transition Day in Year 2
Last Friday, the Year 1 children had their transition day in Year 2 with Mrs Rowe and Miss Rayns. We have been very excited to get to know them and here’s a little about what we got up to.
The children were very excited to come into their new classroom and quickly got settled, finding their names at the tables. During the morning, we played some games to get to know each other and did some work on feelings, change and how we manage these. The children produced some lovely artwork for our Jigsaw display. They also decorated some flowers with all the things that make them special, and we loved finding out about their favourite things.
During the afternoon, we learnt all about Florence Nightingale, our new class name for September, and at the end of the day, we got to quiz our new teachers!
It was fantastic getting to know the children and we are very much looking forward to September. If you would like to support your child with some of the Year 2 expectations, we have attached the Year 2 common exception words for reading and writing. We hope you have a lovely summer and we can’t wait to welcome you all back in September.
