Over the past year we have been working towards our Bronze Reading Pledge in partnership with the Witham St Hughs English Hub. The ultimate aim of the Reading Pledge is to ensure that EVERY child, regardless of their background, needs or abilities, becomes a confident, fluent and enthusiastic reader.
Last week we were successfully awarded the Bronze Pledge and are well on our way to the Silver one. It is our aim to become a GOLD school within a couple of years. To secure the award we had to demonstrate that we have a strong reading culture throughout school where children not only learn to read well but also grow a love of reading through the texts we expose them to and the experiences we provide them. The English Hub were blown away by what we do at KPNS and are very excited to come and see it in action when we apply for the Silver Pledge.
