Year 4 have been working hard this term and have been doing some amazing learning!
Science – Water Cycle Fun
This term, we continued learning about states of matter and explored the water cycle. We even created our very own mini water cycles in the classroom to see the process in action!
Summer Massive Maths
This week, we took part in Summer Massive Maths, where we solved the mystery of which teacher fell asleep in the sun! Using our knowledge of statistics, we cracked the case with a series of mathematical clues.
English – Explanation Texts
In English this term, we explored the explanation text “Why Dragons Are Extinct”. We looked at the key features that make a strong piece of writing, including how to research effectively. The children then researched an extinct animal of their choice and created their own explanation texts based on their findings.
Art summer term – Mountain landscapes
In Art, we have been studying the work of Hokusai. We sketched our own mountain landscapes inspired by his famous piece, which we later used to create a collage using a printing method.
