We are continuing our “Build It Up” topic next week, which the children have been thoroughly enjoying! 🏗️
Our Big Idea Questions will be:
🔹 Who builds our structures?
🔹 What does an architect do?
We will be learning about the important job that builders do and discovering that architects plan and design buildings before they are made. 🧱📐
The children will become little architects themselves! They will have lots of opportunities to design and build their own structures using our construction resources, junk modelling materials and even creating structures in the sand tray. 🏠✨
You might like to talk to your child at home about buildings you see when you are out and about. Who might have designed them? Who might have built them? You might even spot some builders working! 👷♂️feel free to upload photos of buildings that you spot on tapestry as they will help bring our learning to life next week!
We will be sharing this story with the children:
📖 Reading diaries – Next Monday we will be checking reading diaries to see who has earned their Bronze and Silver awards. If you are only a few entries away, there’s still time to get them in!
🎒 Book bags – Please can book bags be in school every day so we can change books and record reading.
📦 Junk modelling – If you have any small boxes, packaging or yoghurt pots, we would love to use them for our building and designing next week!
